The only reason FDR (Democrat) got away with Japanese interment and hardly any backlash for dropping the A bomb is the country was united in war AND THERE WASN'T THE SAME ACCESS TO INFORMATION THAT THERE IS TODAY.

People in the US, UK, and anywhere else pretty much went by whatever they were told in the media as they had no other source of information. (Hell, not so long before that time Germany suddenly found out they'd lost a war which they'd believed they were very much winning). Had people been able to judge for themselves, it would be nice to think that more would have objected to the internment camps. Sure, there are always going to be those who have a kneejerk reaction and a need to blame some minority group - Jews, Muslims, Blacks, Pakistanis, Poles, or whoever else - for all of society's ills, but the fact that Western society hasn't yet dissolved into chaos is evidence that these people don't make up the majority.

Well all the hollering is by liberals....but that does not make it wrong.. we bring these people into our country and have no way of knowing who or what they are. Only by their word. No other reliable way...

I guess the question is,,,, would you like to have a bunch of these refugees in you back yard under these circumstances???????? Maybe have their kids play with your kids???????

They do not have to have a majority to put fear into peoples lives....Have they stopped France yet,,,no.....but what are the cost? Will that cost drive France into ruin or will the people ante up more taxes to pay for the extra security...At what point will their taxes become a burden to great to carry?.Will it then cause Chaos?

The Bible tells us that after the Harpazo (rapture), God will turn his duties to the Jewish people. He will un-restain the evil both Satan and man can and will commit. That is not a pretty picture to look forward to.

Buying a dictionary and peppering your argument with long words where short ones would do doesn't impress anyone. As far as the rest of your posts go, I call you Glenn Beck-lite for a reason. Any time you start a thread, you begin it with "Obama does such-and-such for some unknown reason". The reason is always pretty obvious but it makes clear your dislike of the man and your determination to find fault with everything he does, even at the expense of logical thought.

I've already blocked posts by that tinfoil hat wearing, racist, faux christian, I'm going to have to do the same for yours, or I'll never get any work done.

Blade, two comments.

First, a quibble. The correct colloquialism is "buck naked" according to country vernacular as I have heard it from my Alabama and Mississippi cousins.

Second, and more important: I acknowledge your right to state an opinion, but I have to offer a counter-statement. If the judge refuses to ban someone who is Muslim, he is right in doing so.

The WHOLE POINT of the Equal Rights amendment (that disallows discrimination based on race, creed, color, religion, gender, or national origin) is that we DO NOT PREJUDGE someone based on things over which they had no control. (Religion, usually being imposed by your parents, falls into that category on a technicality.) We only judge someone on their actual criminal acts.

If the Muslim person had not committed a crime at the time that the judge refused the ban, that judge was 100% right and if you disagree, you don't understand the basis of this country. The USA ideal (whether we are currently there or not) is to punish only for ACTIONS that violate our laws. Did YOU choose your country of birth? I thought not. Then why do you want to punish someone else for a condition they couldn't choose either? You can give me all sorts of evasions, but the truth is that banning Muslims just because they are Muslims is blatantly unconstitutional, not to mention how many treaties it violates based on U.N. Refugee rules.

Trump's "Muslim ban" comments are essentially the same as those of ANY scam artist who takes personal advantage from some other person's fears. He is a scheming, petty, self-serving, egotistical, narcissistic, mercurial, say-much-but-do-nothing type who gets where he does by the labor of others. No wonder you like him so much. He's got the same characteristics as your God.

I have yet to block anyone, I was just curious. I mean unless they are sending me a ton of PM's, I really don't see the issue.

Much to my embarrassment, I find myself unable to "switch off" when I stop reading the forum. The posts from Mr Beck and the faux christian were annoying me to the point where I decided to stop reading them. I didn't want to have to stop reading the thread completely, as some other posters - right and left wing - have made some interesting points, so blocking the bullsh*t made the most sense.

Remember this is a British forum not a stupid American one for one brain cell yanks. If yanks must post, can we have some with a basic amount of intelligence who are not obsessed by religion, politics and guns?

Dear God in Heaven (the OT one or the NT one, whichever), American political figures like the POTUS, SCOTUS and even the FLOTUS need to speak out more about how private ownership of guns is NOT guaranteed by the second amendment of the Constitution, which is clearly aimed at the right to form a militia and not necessarily to have a Saturday Night Special tucked away in the glove compartment of their chevy, olds, or caddy.

I've raised this point more than once but the gun nuts won't respond in an intelligent way, if at all.

Notice that Col wants somebody to start a thread that meets his standards and that would interest others, why doesn't he do it?

your correct in the real world we wouldn't waste 30 seconds on these subjects with such intransigence. The www is not a wonderful thing.
 
Libre - there is some debate over your interpretation of the 2nd Amendment. The question is whether that "well-regulated militia" was supposed to supply their own weapons or would have them issued. The most recent rules of the US Supreme Court are that the militia can supply their own weapons. Hence, private ownership of guns.

I understand your interpretation. I just disagree with it.
 
Doc who supplies the weapons is immaterial as they should only exist if you are part of a well trained militia not just for the hell of it.
