The original version used GetFileSize to measure the size of the current file.
To get this...

Re: Reset Rank column in MS Access query every year

All you appear to have done is reposted what you had in post #1.
Did you look at the two links I suggested?

Re: Selecting email from a table

Always test issues like this with a Debug line

Re: Reset Rank column in MS Access query every year

Have a look at the method described here using the Serialize function:
http://www.mendipdatasystems.co.uk/rank-order-queries/4594424063

Or try the subquery approach in the link from there to...

Re: Securing Your Databases - A Tutorial

Many thanks are due to Frothingslosh for informing me of an error related to disabling the Shift Bypass key.

I have updated both the example application and the PDF to version 1.3 to fix that...

Re: Get name of opening form and pass as variable

It was just for tidying up.
If you call the variable again from another form the value is automatically overwritten. But if you don't its hanging around in memory.
That will only be an issue if you...

Re: Get name of opening form and pass as variable

On behalf of all of us, you're welcome.
Its always good seeing a variety of solutions

As you've gone for my approach, you might want to add the line strFormName = "".
The easiest way would be...

Re: Get name of opening form and pass as variable

In a standard module, create a public string variable strFormName or similar.
In your 3 calling forms, add a line strFormName =Me.Name just before you open the called form.
Then replace the...

Re: hide password

Either use a masked input box http://www.mendipdatasystems.co.uk/masked-input-box/4594462216 or create your own form with a password mask

Re: ORDER BY will not work in report's Me.RecordSource

The sort behaviour has been the same for many versions. Probably since version 1. I could check that later today!

Whilst frustrating when you first experience it, there is a major advantage in...

Re: Put duplicated data in a report

You could use button event code so that it automatically prints two copies or if emailing use code to send to customer with copy to store. No need to depend on end user remembering to do so.
With...

Re: Bank Statemant

One last try.
1. The balance should be negative when you are overdrawn so put a minus sign on that expression.
2. The balance shown on each row should be the balance after that transaction has...

Re: Group on first letter

Use your expression as a field in the report record source so it can be used to group the records on opening the report. I have something similar and it works fine done like that.

However if you...

Re: How to remove a datasheet's subform view

Interesting. I never allow end users to change views and in fact hardly ever use datasheets.
I tend to use either single or continuous forms with objects such as combos or option groups being used...

Re: Bank Statemant

Sorry but the balances look wrong to me.
The balances in each record are BEFORE that transaction has taken place.
They should be AFTER it i.e. taking that change into account
So row 2 balance...

Its still loaded in the background but it seems to me is...

Can I ask why you don't just print or email 2 copies - one for the customer and retain or send one to the store

Re: How to remove a datasheet's subform view

OK I did some investigating with a simple form / subform setup to try & make sense of this

If the subform is placed in the detail section, you will get a subdatasheet or subform (in its default...
