Re: Delete consecutive spaces

Add a space to the search string and remove the space from the replace - nearly gets you there;

?replace("Dim intI as Integer"," ","")
Dim intI as Integer

Re: Total beginner lost with VBA and Macros

Okay - that makes sense. I would simply add a allow edits button that is available to all, but lock the record by default.

To lock those fields go into the properties on each control and add the...

Re: Total beginner lost with VBA and Macros

This is the default action within a bound form in Access, and is awkward in the extreme to get around if you really can't trust your users to enter data into a form. You maybe need to ask yourself...

Re: Remote Desktop Issue

To add to my other reply some users have managed to fix this by running

powercfg -h off

from the command line. No idea if that will fix your issue.

Re: What Report level fields are available to the 'On Print' event

On a report the fields have to be present to be able to refer to them, unlike a form.

I suspect it's to do with the reports ability to group and total fields on the fly which could get messy if...

Re: Remote Desktop Issue

There have been some security updates to RDP in the last 6 months, maybe a setting somewhere has changed and it's logging you out of the remote desktop rather than simply closing the RDP session?

Re: "Auto Height" vs. "Can Grow" / "Can Shrink"

@CJ - Can grow does work on a report view and a report viewed IN a form. It's good way of varying the height of a memo type field within a form for viewing purposes.

But correct it doesn't work...

Re: Line numbers in error messages

If that is in the query window in SSMS you can normally double click on the error and it will take you to the offending line ?

Caveat : This may be version dependent

Re: SQL Server Installation Issues

It looks like it's telling you you can't create a database in the system Master database - which you can't. I think that is protected from containing other databases with good reason.

Re: Check box to Auto fil Textbox

You would need to use the On Current event which fires every time you move between records.

Re: Questions reported on veribals multiple

Actually try this instead - it's much easier to see what you are doing;

Me.img32.Visible = False
Me.img36.Visible = False
Me.img40.Visible = False

Select Case Me.AvgOfTemp

Case > 100

Re: How to manage order forms logically.

Have two combo's set to the same control source, but switch the column orders around, and the bound column.

Combo1 ProductName, SKU
Combo2 SKU, ProductName

Eiher way you are only storing one...

Re: DLookup Alternative

I'm with DBG - normal route would be to join the other table in the forms underlying query and bring the value in that way if at all possible.

Re: DLookup Help

Is this on a form? In that case it's correct, I thought this was in a VBA module where the Me. prefix refers to the current form object.

Re: DLookup Help

The Me syntax isn't correct

=DLookUp("Row","qryLocate","Box = " & Me.txtBoxID )

You only need the square brackets for field names with spaces or that are reserved words.

I think they will if you create the control after setting the table design.

The other option is to force the stored value to uppercase in the after update event

Me.YourControl =...

Re: Staff Duty Absence / Presence Table

At the simplest level you'll need at least 2 tables Employees, TimeRecords

At a very simple level simply record the time and the activity and employee ID

EmpID, EventDateTime, EventTypeID

Re: Billing ethics for managing access database

There are many ways of improving performance with Access, but you need to be more specific about your issues.

How many records across how many tables? Do you have indexes on your tables ?
Is it...

Re: has anyone built their own font?

As a left field approach - do any of the Tree View type controls get around this issue?

Wondering if that could be adapted to give you the display you are after?

As suggested you use the after update event, NOT the on change event.
