Open registry editor and take a look at HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.bmp
Set it (Default) value to "Paint.Picture"

This should help. Usually the same trick is done for JPG files.

MyTech, you can connect Access frontend to MySQL server through ODBC. Every hosting, even the cheapest one gives you an MySQL databases service.

Just make quick AccessImagine (http://access.bukrek.net) check.

Place it on form instead of OLE Control and bind to image field. It is a big chance that it will display your data nicely.

As far as I know, Access 2007 doesn't support attachment field type for SQL-Server.
