Re: Report Glitching Upon Opening

Glitch out? Is the only symptom the dreaded mouse cursor's "spinning whirligig" for a while?

You might (stress MIGHT) consider trying to open this while you have the Windows Task Manager loaded...

Re: Purpose of System Tables

I still think of some things that happen behind the scenes in Office as the very blackest of black magic, though I don't recall the use of "black magic" in the Harry Potter books. They DID talk...

Re: Filter continuous Form

Consider this:

Me.Search.SetFocus
Me.Search = ""

Since you get an error that TELLS you that you need to have focus on something to work with it, why would you NOT (just for...

Re: Hello From Ontario - Not California!

I understand your stance on Facebook. The way I think of social networks is that I refuse to join them. Now if I could just find some anti-social networks...

Re: Best Way to Host Access Databases

In a Terminal Services environment, you connect to the host system via TS and open a window to that server. IF you have private storage on that server, you can put the FE in your private area and...

Please confirm for us that the highlighted line is

Re: How Can I Remove two random buttons

Dim RSlot(1 to 4) As Single

The reason I suggested single is to minimize other manipulation since you don't care what it contains as long as it is declared properly and assigned a value in that...

Re: Crashing database

The most interesting part of any system like that is that it still runs in the face of all of the Windows patches that have come down the pike trying to secure the unsecurable.

Re: Access without network server

Keeping it on site offers you a cheap if not perfect alternative. Dedicate one machine on the site network as the "permanent" back-end host. It DOES NOT have to be a server. Heck, if it stays...

Re: Best Way to Host Access Databases

A further problem with the TS environment is that TS managers tend to get it wrong a lot. They want you to share the FE as well as the BE, but that tends to break things. They don't "get" that you...

Please tell me it has been upgraded since then.

Re: Crashing database

It comes from considering what you see as the "front" of the application and the underlying tables and relationships as being the "backside" of the application. So FE = Front End, BE = Back End.

You are entitled to your opinion. You may at some point discover that you are incorrect. Until that time, good luck to you.

Re: How to control form position and size

Normally forms anchor at the upper left. In Windows coordinates, <0,0> is the left-most, upper-most available coordinate on the screen. Window growth is thus down and to the right. What you are...

Re: How Can I Remove two random buttons

Might need them visible "OnCurrent" if the form doesn't close between questions.

And the RSlot can be Single because RND() returns a Single. And all you do is compare it or set it to zero, so it...

Re: Best Way to Host Access Databases

If you have Office 365 on each machine, you don't need a terminal server. You need a machine that will be the host of the back end of your database.

Azure provides, in essence, cloud-based disk...

Re: How Can I Remove two random buttons

Sorry, I should have added DIM statements. What I gave you was "air" code. I sometimes do that when shooting from the hip.

Dim MaxSlot As Integer

Substitute for...

Re: Best Way to Host Access Databases

The Access "business model" is that you MUST have a local desktop machine. Either you host Access on that machine or you host it on a server and use Terminal Services to get to that copy of Access. ...
