Re: VBA to change listbox.rowsource not working

Got to be something silly.

Are you absolutely sure you have values in sopName field that do contain "chem".

Re: VBA to change listbox.rowsource not working

Do you have RowSourceType as Table/Query or List?

What is the ColumnWidths Property?

Re: Proper >= And < Where Condition in VBA

Then the request on original post has a point.:)

"VisitDate >= " & Format(Me.FROMDTTbx, "\#mm\/dd\/yyyy\#") & _
" And VisitDate <" & Format(Me.TODTTbx + 1, "\#mm\/dd\/yyyy\#")

Notice how I...

Re: Proper >= And < Where Condition in VBA

It does mean that a function needs to be applied to every record which will slow down the query. Admittedly it would probably be a very fast function but it would surely be better done using a date...

Re: Proper >= And < Where Condition in VBA

Exactly the same behaviour with either expression.

I generally add a day to the second date so that it picks times up to midnight at the end of the queried day. If all dates in your records have...

Re: Share Name v/s Mapped drive

Best practice when linking to a file system is to store the most significant parts of the path as a records in a table and reconstitute the whole path from that plus the less significant parts of the...

Re: Values won't pass between forms

Arnelg was pointing out that the return from the Split function can go to either an array (a variable name with () after it) or a Variant (which is a complex structure that can hold an array).

Re: Querydef connection string update

Not what I had in mind. Was an off the cuff idea that was easier to try than research. I have shifted the connection of tables before but not a query. I recall that the refresh was important with the...

Try refreshing the querydefs collection after making the change.

Re: Values won't pass between forms

As JHB pointed out, the Split function requires an array variable.

The other issue is that OpenArgs is a Null String rather than a Null if no value is passed so should be tested against a Null...

Re: Add spaces after every 6th character

Expressions not using custom functions should always be preferred.

BTW it is a general practice to not pass variants to functions. Look at all the string functions in VBA. It is a lot more...

Re: Add spaces after every 6th character

Yes I thought that too. Would be good for dashes in phone numbers.

This made me realise it is really a formatting task and wondered how ajb was using it in their app.

Re: Add spaces after every 6th character

Workable, yes. Perfect? No.

Public Function Add6(ByVal pvWord)
Dim i As Byte, j As Byte
Dim vNew, vChr

j = 1
For i = 1 To Len(pvWord)
vChr = Mid(pvWord, i, 1)
If j = 7 Then

Re: Help me to finish this code

Your code only looks at the current record on a form or report.

You probably want ConditionalFormatting. Right click on the textbox to access it and add a condition.

Re: Percent Field

Arithmetic in a system where decimal numbers are represented using binary can be problematic. The solution is to preform the calculations using a number type that is designed to handle it.

Use a "Side End", a separate local database just for the temporary tables. Copy a fresh one each time it is needed and delete it afterwards.

However I first would look closer at why your processes...

To use this technique,...

Yes that is what I was getting at in my first post but got misled by the OP's typo (their omission in Red) when I copied some of their code to base the query on.

Re: DAO Truncate

You need to use the local name for dbo.FinderFile.

By default it will be dbo_FinderFile because the underscore is substituted for dot which is not allowed in Access name.
