Re: On Current event

Even though you had fun cresting it, I still think it could done be more efficiently.
If it were me, I would create a procedure to include one or more update sql statements (or queries) together...

Re: data from excel

Can you explain what you mean by key values and how these differ from the data in Excel.
In fact it would help to give two sets of data - original data and required values.

Re: Multiple filters

If you read my first reply I said that filtering by date range is done in the second example on that Web page - Incident Analysis.

Re: Timesheet Access DB templete wanted

Have you looked in sample databases e.g. There 's an employee tracking example though I've never tried it. Peter Hibbs also has some excellent Gantt chart examples over at UA.
You could also look at...

Re: DLookup based on Average, no result

Yes I can see why it wouldn't work reliably.
You're trying to look up values using criteria that aren't stored data.
Suggest you use an aggregate query to calculate the averages.
Then base your...

Re: Multiple filters

Yes its certainly possible. That's why I pointed you to my example databases where I do very similar multiple filtering including by date range.
I assume you meant display the results as a datasheet...

Re: On Current event

What doesn't run normally in Access?

What does the recordset loop do that one or more update queries would struggle with? Recordsets are slow as each record is processed in turn. Queries run 'all...

Re: DLookup based on Average, no result

I've read this several time but am struggling to understand how the different parts link together. Th fact that there have ben almost 20 views with no other replies may indicate I'm not alone....

Re: Next button not work

That's not how forums operate. Post a stripped down copy of your application removing anything not related to this issue and all confidential data. One or more people will then offer further advice...

Re: Sending Text Message

I setup my SMS messaging utility over two years ago.
I only briefly looked into using email to SMS conversion so haven't tested it properly.
The costs are much the same s using an API to send the...

Re: On Current event

Agree with previous moments about the use of form current.
If it does run, it will run each time there is a change.
Do you really need to run all that code repeatedly?

In an earlier post where...

Re: Trouble with my forms due to run time error 2427

I've added code tags to make your post more readable.
Whilst DBG has offered support outside the forum thread, normally we ask members to post stripped down versions of their databases to the forum....

Re: Generic BE coding in VBA.

The BE should be tables only.
All code should always be in the FE based on the linked tables which means that in almost all circumstances it won't matter whether those tables are in Excel, another...

Re: Set = Nothing

In my case, BT confirmed mid April my Broadband would be connected on my move date of 30 April. They also claimed it would be superfast even though everyone else in this part of rural Exmoor has slow...

Re: join query with like

In addition to the MVF and Cartesian join issues discussed by Doc, two of your four tables have no primary key field. This should be fixed as it will cause issues e.g. may prevent any update queries...

Re: Sending Text Message

MS used to have an SMS message utility but it has long since been withdrawn.
You will need to choose a provider for this. I use Twilio for this. Their rates are in my view reasonable, the API...

Re: Linked table issues

You can open a database read only using the /ro switch.
Doing that means nothing can be edited but there are very few situations where that makes sense.
End users should never have direct access...

Re: Search Property Values in System Tables

Hi Dave
I'm not sure you can do so. Its one reason why I hate embedded macros and always use event procedures
I suspect the details are stored in one or more of the 9 deep hidden system tables...
