Re: Cannot Use Query Criteria From text Box?

This SELECT...INTO sequence MIGHT work if you tried to execute it via DoCmd.RunSQL but it will NOT run from CurrentDB.Execute - and that is because those two methods of SQL action-query execution...

Re: All is right in AWF

Actually, if we are talking methane as a greenhouse gas, the biggest source is TERMITE farts. Livestock is a contributor and so is mankind. The latter particularly true on Mondays in New Orleans,...

Re: 9/80 work Schedule database

Louisiana labor law defers to FLSA regarding overtime. Here is a link to FLSA that includes a discussion of overtime. From the stuff I am reading, the 12-hour day is acceptable as long as the...

Re: ORDER BY will not work in report's Me.RecordSource

Since you are not doing a report grouping, you have essentially at most five sections: Report Header and Footer, Page Header and Footer, and Detail. None of those headers and footers care about...

Re: 9/80 work Schedule database

The key is the "resolution period" for the overtime tests. I worked for a small, disadvantaged (i.e. minority-owned) business (therefore USA's U.S. Code Title 8a applied) where I was hourly but the...

Re: ORDER BY will not work in report's Me.RecordSource

But surely that IS enough reason to use the grouping AND SORTING feature of report creation.

Re: NASA Study Indicates Antarctica is Gaining More Ice Than It's Losing -

Something on which we agree. My step-daughter M. has been a teacher for over 20 years. The first 20 were with the local public school system. Now she is retired from the public system but teaching...

Re: 9/80 work Schedule database

This is a matter of "reporting resolution" in that you have 80 hours per two weeks so (apparently) can get away with the overtime issue. Though it should be noted that in the USA in MOST states,...

Re: Increase Append & Update query columns

Concur with Colin regarding the possibility of not being properly normalized.

I have DEFINITELY performed a query with more than 36 fields in it when dealing with a JOIN query that required me to...

Re: Back color and fore color for list box options

The simplest way to do this is, in the "case ladder" where you are setting those numbers, add the part that I highlight in blue:

Case "Win"
Me.W21R1Win = 1
Me.W21R1Loss = 0

Re: ORDER BY will not work in report's Me.RecordSource

Where you set the recordsource in your event code, just as an experiment, try adding a Me.Requery - because the OnOpen event has already opened the recordsource and started to impose whatever it is...

Re: Need query to group sums where two fields match

Speed-wise, what I posted should be fast. If you are worried, write a macro to execute TWO action queries... one to erase the QTY field for all records in your T1, the other to do the summation as I...

Re: Teradata > MsAccess table

You need to provide something that would return an object when dealing with the SET verb, because it associates an object (in this case, you want a recordset) to an object variable (in this case, the...

Re: Need query to group sums where two fields match

Something similar to:

UPDATE T1 INNER JOIN T2 ON ( T1.PID = T2.PID ) AND ( T1.SID = T2.SID )
SET T1.QTY = T1.QTY + T2.QTY ;

This assumes you have already created T1 with the combinations...

Re: Query to update table from a Select query

June7, I won't argue the point. I simply don't see the value of the "AS Derived" in the example. The alias name is never referenced. If it is not referenced, then I don't know why it would be...

NG, I am happy to see that you are happy about something. Is it something that is worth sharing, or would letting us in on the secret destroy its value?

The ampersand is unlikely to be correct in the third argument (criteria) of the DLookup. The "&" operator relates to string concatenation but "Received= 'no'" is not a string. It is a Boolean...

Re: NASA Study Indicates Antarctica is Gaining More Ice Than It's Losing -

Hatred is where you find it. But, sadly, if you wanted some and couldn't find it, it is still not that hard to make it. Just start them young, before their reasoning skills have matured.

I had...
