Queries can also use functions. For example

Function GetStartDate()

GetStartDate=dteStartDate

End Function

You can then use GetStartDate instead of dteStartDate in your query criteria

I would prefix with dte to make that clear
I also wouldn't use global variables unless there is a reason to do so

1. I hardly ever use datasheet view in forms / subforms
2. The totals row isn't carried...

The problem is your If statement is incorrect
a) Each PartNumber needs to be specified
b) The part after Then needs to be on a new line
