access error for word merge both 2010 (1 Viewer)

so here's my issue I have an MS ACCESS class for a class in school.
I am trying to perform a word merge for one of the tables in access and it pops up an error "Microsoft Word is required to perform this wizard"

any help wold be much appreciated

are you trying to use the records from your Access table (like an receipent address list?) for the word document?

what options are you given when the 'error' occurs?
