hey you guys,

I know I've had this problem before and dbGuy solved it for me, but for the life of me I can't locate the thread! I just ran 10 advanced searches with every keyword I remember putting in that title, and yet nothing. I clicked the up-arrow on the right side of the interface the other day to collapse the main menu and now I can't find the option to expand it again. there's no "down arrow" located anywhere on the screen.

Try: Ctrl+F1

Odd that down arrow is missing.

Another option is to right click the ribbon bar. Check or uncheck the option to "Collapse the Ribbon"

Okay, you meant right click anywhere on ribbon tabs that are still in view. I use Access 2010 and option I see is "Minimize the Ribbon" which can be checked/unchecked. Also, left clicking any tab temporarily expands ribbon.

Also not seeing ?Help icon in that image.

in 365, that works for *hiding* it, but it does not work for making it reappear. but i assume you were referring to versions pre-365? there is no ribbon in 2016.

Description is changed to "Collapse the Ribbon"in A365

I minimize the ribbon on my laptop for more screen real estate and click on the tab to expand to get options.

maybe this is an "ajetrumpet" - based anomaly? On a more moronic-note pointed directly at me, June, if I would've seen the tooltip text shown in this image, I wouldn't have even needed to start this thread.

No it's not an anomaly. Maybe I'm repeating what has already been said, but just right click anywhere on the remaining ribbon "commands". I'm not sure I'd call them tabs as has been stated since the usual real estate for all the controls in a tab is no longer visible. It is enough to right click right beside or on top of anything such as Help or Add Ins or whatever.

My mistake. Obviously I wasn't thorough in this case, as in the case a lot of times. I'm sure glad I have good software testing skills though! (sorry about the size of that image! I thought I cropped it)

I don't know what to make of that.
You tried again and you didn't get what you want?
That's what you tried before, which didn't work but now you've got it figured out?
I'm guessing that you're just saying that's what you get when you click too far to the right of the commands.
