Could someone help me understand how this formula for Excel works please?

=IF(OR(ISBLANK(A4),ISBLANK(C4),ISBLANK(D4)),0,VLOOKUP(CONCATENATE(A4," ",C4," ",D4),Service_Price_List,2,FALSE))

if A4, C4 or D4 is blank, return zero, otherwise look up a price? in column 2 of the service_price_list range where column 1 = the concatenation of A4, C4 and D4 separated by spaces

Ok, I understand that concaternate is about combining the contents of cells but how does it work with vlookup?

it provides the lookup value to be found in the target range - in an Excel cell, start to type '=vlookup(' and you will see what parameter it is populating
