Hi,
Firstly I am new to Access and also new to forums so this post my need more info to get what I want.

I have started creating a DB for my workplace the DB is to record measurements of products we have.

so the DB consist of product code, description, width, length, height, weight, comments, and a few yes/no options

so far I have an entry form which allows me to enter data into my table, the entry form opens as a new record so my last record cannot be edit by mistake.

I would like a way to edit/delete records. I was thinking of creating this in separate forms so I can restrict access to certain users further down the line.

however I am struggling creating edit forms where I can search for a ceratin record for example i would like to open a form enter a product code a viewall details relating to that product code and then be able to edit the details and update the record.

because of the type of data i have restricted my entry form to no duplicates

is a form the best way to do this or should i be looking at queries?

Also can i run a query and get the results on a form rather than data sheet view?

TIA

james
