The large helicopters scoop up water to dump on forest / brush fires.
Would this really be possible? A diver gets sucked into the bucket, then dropped into the fire?
Guess that would be an example of the wrong place at the wrong time.
Or, an example of 1st World Problems.

I think the expression "first world problems" implies that the problem is small, like, your waffle iron is under-powered so your waffles are not fully cooked, or the plastic end breaks off your shoe-lace making it hard to thread thru the holes. Those are first world problems.

I think dying is not a first world problem, no matter how it occurs.

Possible? Yes.

Actually occured like the title of your post states? No.

Not everything that happens in movies is based on real life.

Mark to save typing in the future you may like to know that those plastic ends are called aglets.

Lol, thanks Brian. I knew they had a name but was too lazy to even Google it!
New Word: Aglets!
But this, if I may point out, is another example of a first world problem. ;)

It is not possible unless something has gone very wrong.
Those pumps and buckets normally have a filter to prevent branches and trees from getting in and clogging everything up. A diver is ever so slightly larger than what can go through.

That was the subject of an episode of the TV series CSI. Turned out the placement of the SCUBA diver (in that episode) was somebody's clever idea to obfuscate the diver's murder. I'm going to say this was in one of the first 3-5 seasons of the series, which just ended this season after 15 years on the air.

I also heard that the scuba diver was found in the top of a tree.

I heard he woke up in a bathtub full of ice in a hotel bathtub with his kidney removed and it was Marilyn Manson (aka Paul from the Wonder Years) who did it.

PBaldy nailed it! I got it off a news report that was proven to be a spoof in the first place. Still, it was an interesting concept to consider.

Regarding 1st World Problems
This is a real term that applies to today.
1st World - Align with the USA and basically are part of the IMF
2nd World - Align with the USSR (now Russia) and are part of the support
3rd world - Do not align with either - typically don't have an established international trade.

The EU and Canada would be examples of 1st World.
Cuba use to be 2nd World but may become 1st World.
Many will equate 3rd World to countries that have poverty and warlords.
