Use an autonumber field ?
If you mean have an order line starting at 1 for each order , what defines the order the number is created and what happens if a line is deleted?

I changed my mind, I can not use auto numbering. I need to autonumber from 1 for each order but I want to have that sequence save in the order detail table for future. I need to reuse that line number in a form to be able to go back to that specific record as well as on a report. How do you go about this?
