LOl, climate change is literally the only place where left the wing drops to their knees at the altar of science.

The left wing also ignores science in terms of gender/sex and culture.

As long as liberals get to frame the arguments they will win. ...They set the rules we all live in, including climate change.

Neither of you seem capable of framing an argument without taking a crude swipe at the 'left wing'. The above is just from recent posts but that has applied throughout this lengthy thread. Try reading your own arguments substituting 'right wing'

Quite wrong. The left wing actually only ignores the right wing interpretation of science, which is normally quite outdated and/or wrong when it comes to these topics.

Assuming man made climate change is true (althought I don't agree) I can't see where an average increase in temperature of 2C is a big deal.

In Australian and I am sure it would be the same in America, the average temperature difference between different parts is a lot more than 2C but they still grow the same crops, cattle and sheep and the people live the same.

There might be some areas where an extra 2C crosses a threshold and caused problems. Equally, there will be other areas where an extra 2C crosses a threshold and that allows those areas to become productive.

When a 16 year od girl is sponsored to tell the world we will fry in 10 years then uou know the whole thing is bullshit.

I might start to believe man made climate change if the Ausralian Labor party moves to banning Australian exports of our coal and gas.

The left uses people like Greta Thunberg as a human shield, if you question anything about her motives you are a "Climate Nazi" or worse. She's being used as a tool to silence any push back on this particular subject.

The amazing thing in Australia is people/political parties from the left rave on that if Australia does put a windmill ion every second corner we will have a climate emergency.

Australia produces less than 1.5% of the CO2. If Australia shut down and turned off every power point it will zero difference. On a per capita basis I think we are the biggest man made produces of CO2 BUT there are only 25 million of us.

Obviously arithmetic is not a strong point for the left:D

Some extra bullshit. They rave on about the Great Barrier Reef being impacted by climate change and because of its tourist value we need windmills lining every street. However, "climate change" is supposed to be global. Obviously it is only global when it suits the lefty argument.

One I do love with the lefties is when we have a hot spell for a week that is climate change. When we have a real cold snap for a week that is the weather:D I can accept that people, especially in Australia make big money from climate change but what has me beat is how many average Australians buy their bullshit.

Actually I think a lot of people, at least in Australia, confuse climate change with pollution.

As an example, last May we has a Federal election. One of the electorates which had been held for all time by the conservative party was won by an independent lefty who was very much funded by a large money left wing group.

I have always been a political junky an that also includes American politics and their political system and so keenly follow it all.

This particular conservative electorate that was won by the lefty independent had a lot of general interest and for reasons that would take too long to explain. The electorate is in Sydney, very wealthy on average and much of it is waterfront. I short, a very attractive place to live.

What stood out was when many people in the electorate gave reasons for voting for the lefty independent, who ran almost exclusively on climate change, the people interviewed were really talking about potential pollution problems. Nothing to do with climate change. In fact in that electorate a 2C increase in temperature would be loved as it is a beach and surfing type electorate. :D

This is surely the most pathetic excuse put forward to justify doing nothing.

Everyone needs to take on their share of action, particularly those countries who have built their wealth on carbon emissions like Australia.

Failure to form any energy policy by successive regressive coalition governments in Australia has suffocated investment in the energy sector resulting in us paying some of the highest electricity prices in the world. Worse still it has cost this country dearly in lost opportunity when we could have been part of the action instead of ending up as consumers of technologies developed in other countries when the inevitable change arrives.

Obviously arithmetic is not a strong point for the left:D

Unfortunately logic is not strong point of people like yourself. Instead you choose to do the bidding for fossil fuel companies who have had their propaganda fed to the mindless masses by the regressive media.

One I do love with the lefties is when we have a hot spell for a week that is climate change. When we have a real cold snap for a week that is the weather:D

If you bothered to comprehend the realities of climate change you wouldn't say something so stupid.

I can accept that people, especially in Australia make big money from climate change but what has me beat is how many average Australians buy their bullshit.

The notion of some making big money from climate change really is the craziest part when corporations with huge values on their books from fossil fuel reserves are spending countless millions buying governments to back their agenda and ensure they don't have to write down what would otherwise be stranded assets.

Unfortunately there is no intelligence test for voting and it is compulsory here. We have to wait for the regressives to die out.

In our May Federal election, the opposition leader, that is, the bloke bidding to be Prime Minister said it would take 8 minutes to fully charge and electric car:D

His deputy, a woman and a huge pusher on climate change, in a radio interview did not know the percentage of the atmosphere that was CO2.

These are the people who are full bore climate change people:D

I remember when being a conservative in the Democratic party was a good thing. My parents were "good Democrats" they embraced liberal ideas based on a conservative foundation. They had a balanced approach to life and politics. Now the Republican and Democrats have completely abandoned the very people they were elected to serve.

So I sit on the sidelines as an independent hoping the two sides will meet somewhere in the middle.

Sadly judging from the clown car the dems are putting forth in next primary it's business as usual for the next 4 years.

James Cagney and Ronald Reagan were originally Democrats.

I am 71 and based on ages of both sides of my family I am on the home straight:D I would hate to be 41 or for that matter they the world is going even 61.

In Australia I think apart from the ridiculous immigration and massive regulation the two things that really drive me nuts are the climate change bullshit and all this gender bullshit. The Labor/Greens coalition is way down this track. Lucky they did not win the last election.

I reckon you're on the right track there somewhere. It is apparent that some people just do not like capitalism, and the conservatives who promote it. They do not like entrepreneurs who make a shitload of money. But the political banner they used to follow and support, "communism", has been shown to be more corrupt than any form of capitalism, to the point where Russia imploded in on itself.

So as a left wing politician, how can you keep your job? You either shift the Labour party more to the right like Tony Blair did, or you make up some new fictitious challenge to fight against!

Hence we have:-

The climate change & gender bandwagons.

James Cagney and Ronald Reagan were originally Democrats.

Dr Jordan B Peterson flirted with the left in his college days, however he came to realise that they were basically wet blankets.

In his book Maps of Meaning Jordan
Quoted George Orwell, The Road to Wigan Pier, published 1937.*

George Orwell said:-

"essentially, that socialists did not really like the poor. They merely hated the rich"

We have a very left wing show called Q&A on the gov't channel, sort of our counterpart of the BBC. Basically an audience with questions and a panel of 5 (different ones each week) and the host.

A few months ago one of the science blokes on the panel said a very well know conservative radio broadcaster had all his numbers wrong on CO2. HOWEVER, he must have forgotten about 3 years earlier he was interviewed by the radio host and agreed with everything and reinforced it. Naturally the radio bloke replayed the interview many times over:D

Obviously the scientist had got on the climate change payroll:D

We have this climate scientist bloke Tim Flannery who in the very early 2000s said it would not rain again in Australia etc. He was made Australian of the Year. The recent floods in Northern Queensland covered an area bigger than England and other European countries.:D

It will be interesting to see what happens in 5 or 10 years as all the predictions fall over.

As I said earlier, if you can get a fortune in gov't subsidies to put up windmills then good luck to you. However, how people believe this nonsense and just what will happen out of Australia erecting windmills everywhere has me beat.

It seems to really such in the inner city people in cities like Sydney. These people have more earings than a curtain rod.

You don't see a lot of windfarms and solar farms in rich neighborhoods, sometimes you won't see immigrant's or homeless either. They don't want it. They want the power station towers to run thru your neighborhood. They have influence and big donations to keep the grid somewhere else.

After all that's a million dollar view the unwashed is trying to block...with their climate change nonsense :D

How could this be? How can science be influenced by money? I wonder if this could somehow correlate with climate change?

Nah!:p

Scientist Who Discredited Meat Guidelines Didn't Report Past Food Industry Ties

The new report, published this week in the Annals of Internal Medicine, stunned scientists and public health officials because it contradicted long-standing nutrition guidelines about limiting consumption of red and processed meats. The analysis, led by Bradley C. Johnston, an epidemiologist at Dalhousie University in Canada, and more than a dozen researchers concluded that warnings linking meat consumption to heart disease and cancer are not backed by strong scientific evidence.
