Hello,

I was wondering if there was a way you could filter data by just using a macro. I know how to filter the data by using a text box with a button and typing in the critera, but I want the criteria to be pre-set and have the select data open using only a button on a form.

For example:
If I were to create a button that allowed me to open up the data set that was filtered to certain specs. I obviously know how to create a query and attach that query to a button, but is there a way to have the macro that is attached to the button, do the filtering for you?

My data:

I have a form that attaches mutiple tables in my data set.

Why?
Creating multiple queries takes up so much room, and makes it harder to move through on the left side where all the tables are stored.

BTW, I am using ACCESS 2007

THANKS!!

With Access 2010 and I think '07 as well, using the OpenForm "Action" within a macro will allow you to set filters on a form when opening.

Using VBA is generally recommended for more control, but for a basic form and for a beginner this could be a good option.
