Hi all,

I created a simple report by selecting a query and then the Report icon.

It produced a total for the Invoice Amount, but not the New Amount, so I copied the New Amount sum control and pasted and amended it's source.

However I cannot see where the blue line is in the report.?
I'd like to either have it for the New Amount total as well. or not at all.

I've tried comapring the properties of both textboxes, but I'm blowed if I can find the difference?

Can someone please enlighten me?

TIA

Use the Gridline Style of the textbox.

Hi arnelgp,

That is just it, they appear identical. :banghead:

Hi Gasman

Have you tried using the Format Painter to copy the properties of the Invoice Textbox to the Total Textbox??

Hi Mike,
Sorry I thought I had replied to this post last night.:banghead:

No, and thank you for pointing the painter out.
I have tried it, but whilst it will copies a lot of the properties, it is not createing that line. However I can change Top Width in Properties and it changes in the display.
I have no idea as to why Access only applied a total and line to only one control. However arnelgp's comment about group tipped me off to copy the whole group, header, detail and total and then amend. At least that way I get the line on both.

I will however use that Painter in the future, so again, thank you for the tip.

sorry Gasman, the group is actually
the Grid. If the textbox isnt on
the Grid (stand alone), then
it will not get the any Grid Line.

to check if its is in the Grid,
go to Layout design of your Report.
did you see the dotted line around the
column headers and textboxes. the grid has also
handle to the left-topmost.

if your textbox isnt included, you must
Arrange them again, choose between
Stacked or Tabular. You can then rearrange
them but dont use Remove Layout.

Hi arnelgp,

Yes, exactly that and as you mentioned the group, that gave me the clue to copy the whole group.
