How should I search for a specific post?

I'm looking for this post:

I tried a search with these conditions:

But the result is 11 pages of results, none of them what I'm looking for.
with above conditions, how the following results are shown?

I was able to find the post by typing the url, but how about when I don't know the url?

Thanks.

Yes, I already saw that blog. Actually, I first read your blog and watched the video there. In the video there was an image of a post here. That's why I tried to search around. I had to type the address from the video to find your post.

Well, the number 671226 is faintly visible in the URL on the image you posted.

Try entering

https://www.access-programmers.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?p=671226

It worked for me.

Thanks for your input but as I explained above, I was lucky to know the URL and I already found the page by typing it's address.

The point is when you search for something, it means you don't know the url. You are interested in something or have a problem and try to search if there's any previous post that may help you.

If the search doesn't bring up the correct result, what is it good for?

If the search doesn't bring up the correct result, what is it good for?

Most people have problems with searching because they are not sure on the particular terms they need to search on.

As you get more experienced with MS Access you will get better results.

However if you still have problems, then as I mentioned in the search blog provided, ask a question on the forum.

With regard to a search not returning results, particularly when you have supplied all of the correct and relevant information, which I believe is the essence of your enquiry, then I have no idea!

This happens to me more often than I'd like.

My solution to this particular problem is to leave it for a day or two and then have another go with a different set of search terms.

And if this don't work then post a question in the forum!
