How do I lock a subform in Form View? (1 Viewer)

I have created a subform in one of my forms but am unable to lock it in the form view. Every time I open the main form my subform reverts back to datasheet view.

Am I am to keep it in form view?

Hi. Welcome to AWF!


Check the following properties of the form in design view:


1. Default View = Single Form
2. Allow Datasheet View = No

My main form is setup with those criteria but I do not see a way to do that in my subform properties.

Close your main form and then try selecting the subform from the Navigation Pane and go to Design View. If that doesn't work, let us know.

Thank you! I did not realize the subforms appeared on the nav pane.

It's just a normal form. When it's opened by the main form it gets loaded into a subform control on the main form. You can open this form directly as you would any form. Same holds true for subreports.

If you click on the subform, NOT the subform control, you will see them on the format tab?
