I have made some steps to increase the site speed, which should take effect within 24 hours. Please let me know if you see any differences.

hey Jon, I'm just curious, but is this forum on a dedicated server?

Its not a dedicated server but a premium VPS server tweaked for vbulletin sites. Also, we are now using a CDN (Content Delivery Network) for even fast site speed.

Have you noticed any speed increases since yesterday evening?

Nothing that immediately stands out, sorry.

Having said that I have noticed that moving between screens has speeded up and the refresh rate has increased. So there has been noticeable increases.

Yes, it should feel noticeably zippier around here due to the CDN. Also, I am tweaking a few other things to try and max out the site speed.

On the whole, how fast would you say these forums are compared to most forums? It is hard for me to judge because my own internet connect is dog slow.

That's good to know! :)

Are we talking twice as fast? Less? More?

Well, there’s definitely an increase in page load time, it’s too early to say whether the serious problem that occurs sometimes Pages not loading at all will occur.

Do you mean a decrease in page load time?

No, but I'm not on much. In general, I haven't seen any of the problems, be it slow requests and/or strange behavior for months now. So you must be doing something right, Jon!

I probably won't stop by often though, especially now that Bob has targeted me as not being useful. That little exchange will make me laugh for quite a while, I'm sure...

Definitely faster than it was 2-3 months ago.

Compared with other sites it is generally better - that is my impression
