I have a current Access DB saved an *.accdb. I am trying to convert this DB to the *.mdb format. However the current Access DB has embedded macros within it. How can I disable these macros so that I can convert this Access DB into the older MDB format??

Sincerely,

Patrick Q

in the new version, convert the forms EMBEDDED macros with:
“Convert Form’s Macro to Visual Basic” button.
THEN the form should convert backwards to the old way.
In the 'before' time.

Welcome to the Forum! :D

Note, after converting the macros you may still need to do some work as there are some new commands since .MDB and some of that code may not run. So be sure to test once downsized.

In summary, it can be done, form by form using the built in tool but its tedious to do.

I never use macros and that also applies to embedded macros.
In fact when I first create a new database, I make sure I tick 'Always use event procedures' in the Object designers section of Access Options.

Strongly recommend you do so in future as well!

Hi Patrick,

How can I disable these macros so that I can convert this Access DB into the older MDB format??

Can you please elaborate on what exactly you mean by "disable?" Thanks.
