Hi all -

Anyone have any ideas of something I can do to be able to connect up with our SharePoint site? I have WinXP SP2 with IE7 and I can't connect with IE, but I can connect with FireFox, which makes me believe that there is some setting I am missing in IE.

I've added the site to the Trusted Zone and I've selected all of the SSL options in the Advanced tab. In fact, I can connect to the site with IE7 on my home machine (Vista Home Premium) but can't with my laptop.

I've searched on Google and have tried all of the various tips that people have given, but it still hasn't worked. I even reset my browser settings to the initial shipped settings and that didn't work. I used to have a firewall but I uninstalled it and disabled the Windows Firewall and that didn't work. I tried enabling the port within the Windows firewall and that didn't work.

I have run out of ideas.

Hey,

I have been working on sharepoint quite a bit over the past year, can you tell me what error messages you are getting through IE? page not found or 401?

Have you tried using the full url i.e. http:\\MyCompany.com\pages\default.aspx rather than http:\\MyCompany.com\ if so this might help (see reply #2).

actually I am using

https://subdomain.mycompany.com:444

which works for me at home on my main machine (Vista, IE7) and works for everyone at the office (XP SP2, IE7) (Vista, IE7) but not for my laptop (XP SP2, IE7).

 sorry must remember to read the first port properly :p

Well it clear it's the laptop, so questions is what is different about the laptop - does it run any different software that the other machines ? you've said you've disabled firewalls how about Anti-virus (Norton for example does weird things).

I would go through all the software on the laptop and disable/ stop them running in turn but I have to say it's an odd one.
