Just got a notification that Jerry Lewis has died, age 91. There is nothing that makes you aware of your own mortality then to have a childhood hero die in your lifetime.

Time to uncork a bottle of chiante and raise a glass...

When I was a kid my mom took me to see a lot of the Dean Martin/Jerry Lewis movies. They were silly but not terribly naughty (by more modern standards). Rest in peace, Jerry. Your "kids" will never walk alone. You'll be there with them.
