Responsive design for mobile site

hi guys!

Im designing some new web pages <snip> to be responsive for mobile devices. On the category browser page id like to be able to have 2 categories show side by side. At the moment with the category images i have the web page seems to narrow down to one category per line. can you tell how i change this to have at least two categories per line.

Do i have to change the size of the category images or reduce the gap between the images to achieve this ? Alternatively is there a way to shrink the images to a size which allows two images per line ? I am testing on a iphone at the moment but hope to test other mobiles in time.

Thanks
