Hi there!

I'm new to Access specifically, though I've dabbled a bit in PHP and MySQL, so I'm hoping some of those skills translate here. I've never thought about Access before, but my girlfriend has a business that gets unbearably busy around the holidays, so I've taken up Access to create a decent sales database for her.

Hopefully I can contribute a bit as well!

Cheers! :)

SQL skills will take you far. The more you can do using SQL via Access, the faster your eventual application will run. This is the place to ask questions, including specifics about some method or approach, or simply asking if knowing SQL helps.

Thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately "dabbled in" is more of a "I know how to make my webpage display VERY basic things in my database", but I'm always eager to learn!

Very basic? So? Remember that the first thing they teach C++ programmers is how to make it say "Hello, world."
