Hi. Just one person's humble opinion, but yes, it's should be possible. However, I think it means starting from scratch (or almost from scratch). There is no "conversion tool" I am aware of.

The article doesn't mention Citrix which is my preferred method. The best option is for the client to host Citrix on their server. That allows both local LAN users and remote Citrix users to access the app at the same time. Hosting the app on a Citrix server at a third party site is an option but it means that ALL users must be using Citrix.
Citrix runs the app on the server so there is no real data transferred over the web so data usage should be minimal. You get "pictures" from the server and the app sends keystrokes to the server as the user types on the web page. Citrix users frequently experience better responsiveness than the local LAN users.
