This is for AccessJunkie: In the above post in EE, you were quoted saying that "Call a named data macro that uses parameters from a UI macro action and then feed those into a parameterized query for an action" in a discussion to help someone who wanted to do something similar to a subview.

Would it be possible to feed the parameter to a query with a data macro where the query would return a recordset that could be source of a view? Thanks so much.

Hi,

Yes your scenario sounds achievable in Access web apps, assuming of course I've understood your scenario correctly.

You can create a parameterized query that serves as the record source for a view (form) in an Access web app. You can use a UI macro to grab values from controls on the view and then use an OpenPopup macro action to open that view. The macro action designer will display variable text boxes which you can then use to pass the parameters down to the query which serves as the record source of the view.
