No Tim, you're confused. This is the Whitby train, not Intercity you'll note

LOL.

I'd like to think that we simply put a little life back into it by kicking it in the caboose.

Re: Couch or Gym?

Neither - a bit of cycling, running, football, and general fitness - but no gym anymore.

Re: Couch or Gym?

Bicycling (5-13 miles a work day). Sometimes a lot of yard work.

Re: Couch or Gym?

I go to the gym a little, but I prefer working out in my own home. However, the couch sometimes (for me) is the better option!

Re: Couch or Gym?

For me it is riding my unicycles. Depending on the type of riding I am concentrating on, I sometimes do up to 40 km per week on my 29 inch wheel.

Unicycling is the most extraordinarily effective cardio workout. I have a resting heart rate of 42 beats per minute. At my last health check, my doctor thought I had a serious heart condition and needed a pace maker. Subsequent heart stress tests conducted by specialists showed I was just very fit.

Mine is not an isolated case. Other unicyclists have reported similar experiences. I know of no other exercise that will get that kind of cardio result with three to four hours of activity per week.

It also develops excellent core strength and balance. It can be a meditation. I am much more content and happier when I ride.

BTW. Anyone can learn to ride a unicycle. It just takes persistence. Age is not a factor. Terry Peterson, is one of the best riders in the world and is aged sixty.

Re: Couch or Gym?

No, I can afford the full bike.

Why is it people are impressed by more balls and less wheels? Things would be so much simpler if they wanted less balls and more wheels

Until I saw a video on you tube of this guy riding down a set of stairs, so I just had to try it. I broke my neck before I even got to the bottom !
No , just kidding. I made it all the way down.

Why can unicyclists always go longer than bicyclists?
Bicyclists are always two tired.

unicyclists aren't crazy, just slightly unbalanced

You bought three apples the other day, the man at the counter said "would you like a bag with that?"
You replied: "no, I unicycle"

What's The Difference Between a Hobo On a Unicycle And a Man In a Suit On a Bike?
Attire.

Thanks for the opening line! Haven't had a chance to use y Unicycle jokes for 47 years.

GYM - I speed walk 3 miles round trip and wave to the gym on the way.

Re: Couch or Gym?

No to the gym, but I will (when weather permits) take a 3-mile walk around the neighborhood. It is peaceful enough because I'm not going through an inner city area. Strictly the 'burbs. We've had a bad run of weather this month, but last month I walked my 3-mile route 28 days out of 31.
