searching a web database (1 Viewer)

Hello,
Where can I find the code to search my web database and show the results when someone wants to use the quick search box on my page?

For example:
Customer wants to find a red dress so they type in "red dress" and hit search and all the results come up on a different page.

I know I need a search.asp or search.php page but I can't find where to research the code.
