I have to add a macro to an xls workbook, I assume it is Excel 2003.
The existing VBA code is password protected. Can you recommend something to break the password?

I thought I had something to break the code, used it once a few years ago and now cant find it. Would prefer something not zipped as I don't have win zip or similar

Thank you

FWIW if you are running Win7 or above, windows has it's own zip manager?

If you double click it, it should open the file.?
If you right click a file or folder and select Send to and then Compressed (zipped) folder that will create a zip file as well.

once you have forgotten the password of excel totally, you should turn to the third party for help, but you still can try some small tricks to get the password back.

Open Excel > Open Restrict Editing via the path: File > Info > Protect Document > Restrict Editing > Stop Protection" option and click on it.
