Hi,

I have been able to successfully mail merge text and date fields from Access to a Word document.

However, I have a hyperlink field which does not appear to merge correctly.

In the DB I have edited the hyperlink to have a more convenient name by setting the Text to display option to "Student".

When the hyperlink is merged into the word doc it displays "Student" and the Address in one long string of characters.

Not only does the hyperlink not work but it seems to have added a "#" the start and end of the address.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I recently posted a video about a similar problem with Excel and Access.

It's not an answer to your problem but it might offer some insight.

Thank you Uncle G and Steve for your responses.

With regards to loading into excel first, I'd like to steer away from having to open another program. My ideal solution would be to mail merge directly from Access in to Word.

With regards to the PDF link, I followed it to the tee, but to no avail.

When the merge is actioned the resulting link is shown simply as "Jack"

When this hyperlink is clicked the following message is received: "The address of this site is not valid. check the address and try again".

If click Edit hyperlink, the Address reads "Jack".
