Hey Guys,

Ran into a problem I have not encountered before.

I am linked to a SQL db that have many tables.

One in particular has 403 fields....I am limited to see and use the first 255

any way around this??

Anyway to choose the fields I want....most of those fields I do not even use...

The fields I use is not even close to 255

It only shows me that amount and cuts off the rest...??:banghead:

First the admonishment--a table with that many fields is not a properly structured table, someone didn't know what they were doing. If there is any way to fix that you should.

If you do not have the authority to do that, then I suggest creating a View within the SQL database. Bring in just the fields you need, create the View object in the SQL database and then link to that View from Access.

Hi. Unfortunately, Access tables are limited to 255 fields/columns and there's no way around that. I agree with plog and try to use a View in SS with just the necessary columns to link from Access.

Hi. No sweat. We've all been there. No one was blaming you. Good luck!
