I have a simple report of names and phone numbers. I have used the page setup to put them into two columns to get as many on a page as possible. Is there a way to repeat the headings "Name" and "Phone Number" at the top of each column? Would I be better off exporting this to excel or word?

Just double it in the report header. if you cant do that, make a subreport using the phones and do it there.

How do I create a subreport?

I think if your report is just a list of numbers, you dont need a sub report.

I tried doubling it, but that only made the page wider.

Make sure you put the header information in the "Page Header" section. Then double check to ensure the detail section is not running over the width.
For example if you want 2 columns, make sure everything in the detail section fits into the first 3 inches. You may be able to push it to 4" but then you have to change the margins in page setup to avoid printing extra blank pages.

I did that. As soon as I add more headings to the page header, the page gets wider, so I end up with data under the first Name/Phone heading pair, no data under the second, data under the third, etc.

Move the headings over to the left (before 3.5" mark).
Then go to the far right side of the report. Click and drag the report to the left so the entire report is 8". Change your page setup margins left & right to .5"

If you can't click and drag the right edge of the report. Then you probably have some fields which need to be moved left (look at the page # field at report footer & move it left). And you may have lines in the report which need to be shortened.

No luck. The issue isn't the page being too wide (I can drag the right edge to 4''), but rather the inability to place headers over the second of two printable columns. I am stuck.

Take a look at the attached two column example.
Now try adding plain 'ol text boxes to the header section. Any luck?

Thank you very much. I use a 3-column report for this case.
What I wish to achieve is as follows:

1- Column headers to repeat on top of both columns, currently is exists only on top of column 1

2- Report header (or page header) expand to whole width, not only the column width.

3- When I put some subtotals to the report footer, it forces a new page, do I cannot see on the same sheet.

Sorry if this is too much :) Please see the attachment snapshot.

Many thanks for your help! BR, Çaglar Durgun
