I have just installed Office 2010, but still using 2007.
When I start one or the other, I think after using the other, it takes ages configuring itself again.

Any way to prevent that? Thanks.

Unless you install one of them on a virtual machine or a separate computer ....

To minimize the annoyance, make sure that A2010 is the default and always open apps with that version. Then if you specifically want to test with A2007, open A2007 and then open the app.

Behind the scenes Access is fighting with itself over control of the registry. Each time you open a different version of Access it takes over the registry and that is the installing.............. message you see. Just stick with A2010 and you won't see the message except for the times you actually need to swap versions.

Thanks Pat, If I were to uninstall Access only (say from 2010) would that also help?
I haven't used Access 2010 at all (yet), mainly Excel on both versions.

It would be better to uninstall O2007 and use O2010
