Then you need a linking table that has both CustomerID and LoanID in it so you can connect A customer to A loan, but not limit either to being the ONLY one.

Thanks. Based on that, I might do something like this:

Customers > Owns > Properties > Have > Loans

The relationship between Customers and Loans is implied by the Property.
