Hi

Do you want to be able to select "Side Plate" and then only see the Parts associated with "Side Plate" ??

What is a "job number"? You have no field named that in your tables.

Why won't an autonumber data type work?

Winnipeger,

Welcome to the forum.

Folks here are quite good at deciphering posts and poster intent. However, your post may require divine intervention. Please describe the "business" you are trying to support with this database in simple, plain English. Once readers understand what you are trying to accomplish, you will get more focused responses and fewer guesses as to how it might be done.

Use the tried and true who, what, when, where, why, how much, and how often to give readers a description of "a day at work" or "my issue from 30,000 ft". You are intimately involved with your environment; readers are not.

Access does not play well with fields or objects with embedded spaces in their names.

Hi Guys,

Sorry to confused you. I will try to give as much information needed.

My problem is there is a current default table (Parts) which the user needs to select the "Side" then enter the new "Job number" and "batch qty". And save everything in the existing Jobnumber table

so for example:
when i go to form then choose back plate
with job number 1500
and batch quantity 2

the result should be:
all components with back plate
with job number 1500-1,1500-2. . . . respectively
and with Rqdqty multipled by 2

hope this helps
