Hello Everybody,

Accessworld asked me to introduce me first, well here we go...

I'm from Holland, Europe, I am 54 years old, yes indeed, old :)

I worked with MS access almost from the beginning of Desktop PC's,
We had a warehouse full of technical spareparts, and it was a mess.
I worked through the warehouse, typed in all the data from these part,
directly in a table.
WHY use id's? WHY use primary keys :) everthing was new.
The next step was generating a form with all the parts wich were below
the minimum ...so this was the begining if forms, querys, macro's followed
by VBA.

Since then I repeated the proces form 4 more warehouses, and I made a few programs wich were used by a few collegea's, all at a small base, noting
serious, all a bit of hobby-programming.

And now I am here...and curious of what to find....LETS GO !!

Greetings,

Reinier

Hi Reinier
Welcome to AWF
Only 54! That's young!
I've also used Access since early in its development going from hating it with a vengeance to learning to love it (most of the time!)
Anyway, I hope we can help you with your applications

Yes indeed, I just couldn't understand why I had to use primary keys,
ID/autonumber, nobody told me ofcourse :) it was a struggle

Now, 18 years later, I am still surpriced how few people use MS access,
but instead creating larged complicated and ugly hobby excell forms :)

There is still high treshold for people for diving into access,
not knowing all the possibilities and not knowing how to created really
neat applications!

Reinier ,Welkom, The_Doc_ Man thinks 71 is getting on, i go slightly better at 78 , so the point is age is just a number.

Regards Ypma
