Hi Guys

Can anyone help with an Excel problem?

Macros that I create in Excel must be saved to the Personal Workbook as they are used in conjunction with Reports which are created in and exported from Access.

The problem is that when I now attempt to run a macro in Excel or in fact create a new macro I get a message which tells me that the Personal Workbook is locked for editing.

I've tried going to the location where the PW resides and resaving under a new name and I have run the Microsoft Office repair tool umpteen times but the problem persists. I've also tried applying fixes that I've found on the internet to no avail. I can't now create a new macro as the PW refuses to save it.

Some assistance would be appreciated.

Hi Gasman - thanks for your response - my Personal Workbook file has the suffix xlsb. Does that make sense?

Yes, mine to, but when it is open there is a version prefixed with a ~$ in the same folder.
If there is and you can delete that, you should be good.?
