I've updated Windows 10 on my Lenovo W520 where I have had Office365 Home running for a year without problems.

After this last update Access wont start up - Word/Excel ect. no problems - only Access - starts with a white screen and never comes further - some CPU use, no disc activity ... but never realy starting.

I've repaired (both methods), I've UN-installed with reboot and INstalles again - still Access just goes into this white screen.

What can I do more ?

OK, I'll run a

sfc /scannow

to see what it reveals - thx

EDIT: I ran a test with: sfc /scannow - nothing found !

It could just be an issue with the last opened database

Try holding the shift key down when you open Access.
Then go to database options and UNTICK open last used database when Access starts.
Then try opening Access normally and select a database to open - preferably a different one this time

If that works, identify the database causing the white screen issue & DECOMPILE it to remove any corrupt compile code. Then RECOMPILE & COMPACT

Makes no difference - just that white screen again !

Now too tried to scan the disc for errors - nothing found !

Reading the thread, I don't think it is a particular database, but the program MS-Access it self.
Can you not roll back the update, (restore it to a previous state)?

The OP has already done a clean install of Access ...

I've repaired (both methods), I've UN-installed with reboot and INstalles again - still Access just goes into this white screen.

For that reason, I still suspect it is corruption which decompiling should fix
But of course I can't be sure ... :)

Anyway JHB, you're just 'round the corner' - you could pop in!!!! :D

Yeah - but my suggestion was to roll back the Windows system to the point before the Windows update. :)
..

:D:D - not just round the corner.

I have no earlier point to roll back to

You should be able to rely on a fully update ... or else ... we are just running loose like a bunch of goose !

I only see one decision to reinstall Office 365

I have tried that severel times - no cure at all !

I have contacted the 365-support team and they logged on to my computer and just did waht I told them I have done myself ... then they logged off again and I never heard from them again !

Hi

Can you upload a zipped copy of one of your Access Db's
.

We can then check if they run on our systems.

It has nothing to do with as specific DB ... it's Access itself than wont run !:banghead:

I know I asked you to do this before but you didn't respond to my previous question about it. Have you tried decompiling?
http://www.fmsinc.com/microsoftaccess/performance/decompile.asp

Are you running 32-bit Office or 64-bit Office?

Secondly how are you trying to open a database?
1. Open access then do File ...Open ....
2. Double click on an access file in Explorer
3. Double click on a shortcut e.g. on the desktop.

In each case, what exactly happens?

Can you get as far as Database Options - if so, check your settings

Finally, have you tried downloading a runtime version of Access to see if the same behaviour occurs - both A2013 & A2016 are available

As I said in my last posting ... it has nothing to do with my DB ... it's Access itself that wonr run !

When I start Access - not a DB-file - Access itself ... just a white screen comes up ... no splash-screen, no menues, no nothing ... just that white screen an dit stay there forever ... I can see/hear there is activity ... but :banghead:

I'll start up installing the machine from scratch ... Windows, Office and all :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

What I'm more angry over is that miserable support I got from MS ... not worth a penny !

Yes I understand that you get a white screen when opening Access itself
I can also understand your frustration about the lack of support

If you are asking forum users for help, then it is reasonable to expect you would help people trying to help you

BUT I've asked the same questions several times & you haven't answered most of them. I'll try once more and have added a few more....

1. Have you tried decompiling? See previous link
If so what happened?

2. Are you running 32-bit Office or 64-bit Office?

3. How are you trying to open a database?
a) Open access then do File ...Open ....
b) Double click on an access file in Explorer
c) Double click on a shortcut e.g. on the desktop.

In each case, what exactly happens?
AFAIA you've answered the first of these ONLY

4. Can you get as far as Database Options - if so, check your settings

5. Are ACCDB files correctly associated with Access?

6. Finally, have you tried downloading a runtime version of Access to see if the same behaviour occurs - both A2013 & A2016 are available
I asked that because you may get different behaviour with a runtime version
