In Need Of Vb Tips

IN MY DATABASE I HAVE ASSEMBLIES THAT ARE MADE UP OF VARIOUS PARTS. SOME OF THESE PARTS HOWEVER ARE ASSEMBLIES THEMSELVES. WHEN CREATING THESE PARTS I HAVE A CHECK BOX THAT IS CHECKED IF IT IS AN ASSEMBLY. WHAT I WANT TO HAPPEN IS THAT WHEN I OPEN AN ASSEMBLY AND DISPLAY ALL THE PARTS I WANT A BUTTON TO APPEAR BESIDE THE PARTS THAT ARE ALSO ASSEMBLIES SO I CAN THEN PRINT THEIR OWN ASSEMBLY LIST. I WAS THINKING ALONG THE LINES OF :-
IF ASSEMBLY CHECK = TRUE THEN
BTNPRINT.VISIBLE=TRUE

HOWEVER IM NOT VERY GOOD WITH VISUAL BASIC AND I'M NOT SURE HOW TO GO ABOUT IT. I TRIED PUTTING THIS IN A GET FOCUS EVENT BUT JUST ENDED UP HAVING BUTTONS APPEAR FOR EVERY RECORD IN THE LIST IF THE FIRST ASSEMBLY WAS CHECKED. WHAT CODE WOULD I USE AND WHERE WOULD I PUT IT? IM CONFUSED!!
