why not working the Conditional Format?

put your report in design view.
select all your field in the Detail
section.
on Ribbon->Format->Conditional Formatting.
On New Rule, First Combobox->Expression Is: Nz([Outstanding], 0)=0
choose the Background color you want.
Press OK, Press Apply.

Have you already tried

Nz([Text-5-O/s], 0) = 0

on the Expression Is box
of Conditional Formatting?

if so, can you upload a Test
version of your db.

i used the above Textbox name
on my test db and it is formatting.

i can't think of anything but
one, if it is a text:

Val("0" & [Text-5-O/s]) = 0

vba won't help either
because our condition
would be the textbox = 0.

is it possible for you to .zip
your db and post it.

the Formatting is not coming out
because all your Textbox Backstyle
is Transparent. I set it to Normal.
