Hi. My name is Jim McDonnell. I've been using various versions of Access since 1997 and was once qualified as a dba for Oracle 8. My real job is in Engineering economics, but in my industry (electric and gas utility) the data requirements are substantial.
I also use Access as a interface between my cost optimizer other Office programs. I enter most data using automated data imports, and parsing a variety of sources in various formats. Very little manual entry.
My company recently moved to Office 2010, and I've found that several of my forms and procedures don't work the way they used to. I began looking for a forum to resolve these difficulties without re-inventing my entire application, and chose this forum because the expertise level seemed extremely high.
