messy screen during runtime

I have a VBA procedure which is run using the onclick from a button on a form. When the procedure runs it makes all the open forms invisible and then runs a query, the query takes info from hidden text boxes on various forms. After the query has run the procedure closes all the forms.

The problem I have is that the screen doesn't seem to refresh and leaves bits of the forms on the screen which looks messy.

Ive tried repainting the forms before running the query too no avail.

Anyone got any ideas on how I might force the forms to do their stuff before the query runs.
