vb.net question

I know that this is the asp.net section but i was unable to find the vb.net section so i will post this here.

Does anyone know the vb.net equivilant to the access allowedits = false. Im using bound forms in vb.net and would like to basically lock the dataset until a button is pushed to allow the edits.
