1. Open access then do File ...Open ....
2. Double click on an access file in Explorer
3. Double click on a shortcut e.g. on the desktop.

In each case, what exactly happens?

Can you get as far as Database Options - if so, check your settings

Finally, have you tried downloading a runtime version of Access to see if the same behaviour occurs - both A2013 & A2016 are available
As I said in my last posting ... it has nothing to do with my DB ... it's Access itself that wonr run !

When I start Access - not a DB-file - Access itself ... just a white screen comes up ... no splash-screen, no menues, no nothing ... just that white screen an dit stay there forever ... I can see/hear there is activity ... but

I'll start up installing the machine from scratch ... Windows, Office and all

What I'm more angry over is that miserable support I got from MS ... not worth a penny !

Re: Access wont start at all ??

Yes I understand that you get a white screen when opening Access itself
I can also understand your frustration about the lack of support

If you are asking forum users for help, then it is reasonable to expect you would help people trying to help you

BUT I've asked the same questions several times & you haven't answered most of them. I'll try once more and have added a few more....

1. Have you tried decompiling? See previous link
If so what happened?

2. Are you running 32-bit Office or 64-bit Office?

3. How are you trying to open a database?
a) Open access then do File ...Open ....
b) Double click on an access file in Explorer
c) Double click on a shortcut e.g. on the desktop.

In each case, what exactly happens?
AFAIA you've answered the first of these ONLY

4. Can you get as far as Database Options - if so, check your settings

5. Are ACCDB files correctly associated with Access?

6. Finally, have you tried downloading a runtime version of Access to see if the same behaviour occurs - both A2013 & A2016 are available
I asked that because you may get different behaviour with a runtime version
