Hi all

Can anyone help

What I want to do is to create a new table based off 2 other tables.

some of the data is common but the field names are not.

I basically want it all in one table (i know some of the data wont be the same in each field)

I have looked a union queries, linked tables, update queries, make table queries and append queries.

This may seem like a daft question but I am very new to access and hoping that someone can help or recommend a better way of doing this.

I thought I'd try the experts...ha ha.

Just as a go at it ...

Create a normal select query. Add the tables, link em, and put the fields in. Run the query, tweak it, etc, until it looks like you want.

Then at the query control, change it into a make table query. Name it and run it once.
