Dear forum users,
My name is Dirk Van Giel, I live in Flanders, the northern region of Belgium where we speak flemish, a language similar to Dutch.
My professional carreer as a software developer started in 1981. I have been working on S/38, AS/400 and iSeries machines for 29 consecutive years. In 2010 I had problems with my health and moved to Costa Rica hoping for a better and healthier life. However I was forced to return to Belgium in 2012 for reasons beyond my controle.
Now I work as an EDI-specialist for a company in Antwerp and I was asked to develop some small applications in Access using VBA for that matter.
My knowledge of Access is limited to the GUI and what you can do using the product as it is. I would like to learn VBA as fast as I can and skip all unnecessary introductions and get to the point where I can start programming.
During my carreer I got acquainted with using Borlands Visual dBase and writing some cool stuff so I have some knowledge about OO and things like that.
I just can't wait to creating my first data entry / validation module in Access/VBA though.
Hope you can help me with some questions and tips during my journey to becoming an experienced IT-person again.
