    Old Forum Posting Notifications

This morning when I checked my email I had a long list of messages from Access World Forum notifying me of responses to old postings. I had already read all of these responses. They go back for about one year. Does anyone know why I received these notifications? It's not a problem. I'm...

    Word 2010 / Grid Lines

It was a minor mistake, if it was a mistake at all. It works for me quite often. I suspect that you are just having a bad day. And, I hope it gets better.

    Word 2010 / Grid Lines

So sorry. I did not notice the date. It was at the very top of the list when I opened the forum, so I thought it was new. I read it quickly, but understood that he was having trouble finding his normal.dot template. A lot of the users at my workplace are unable to navigate folders outside...

    Word 2010 / Grid Lines

The easiest way I can think of to get to your normal.dot file is to open a blank document (which now has grid lines) and turn off the grid lines. When you exit the document, Word should ask you if you want to save the changes to normal.dot. I'm no expert, but I think that should work. Good luck

    Access shutting itself down

We are running Access 2003 over a thin client. There are up to eight users, each have their own front end. Yesterday Access started periodically displaying an error message that said it had encountered a problem and was shutting itself down. My thinking is that the problem has to be with the...

graphics made with Word shift and come apart

I have inhereted a Word project that contains a lot of graphics made using boxes, arrows, etc. made with the Word drawing tools. Whenever I insert new text or change the formatting on pages before these drawings, the boxes and text in the graphics shift around. I tried making text boxes and...

Access prints reports but not queries

They can print to other printers without any problem. Since my first posting, we have discovered that the problem is also occurring in Word. They can print if they use the quick print button on the toolbar, but cannot print the same document through the menu. So apparently it is not an Access...

Access prints reports but not queries

We are using Access 2003 and printing to an HP Color Laser Jet 3600dn. Reports will print, but attempting to print the results of a query causes the following error message to print: PCL XL error Subsystem: KERNEL Error: IllegalTag Operator: OpenDataSource...

Problem using 2003 and 2010 as front end?

Has anyone had people using two different version of Access for their front end? We are in transition from 2003 to 2010. The back end is in 2003. One user already has 2010 for the front end, but the others still have 2003 (at least for a few days). Thanks, Cherry

VBA 7 Reference for use with Access 2010

Bob, apparently the whole problem was that I did not set up the trusted locations correction. Everything works perfectly now. Thank you again. Cherry

VBA 7 Reference for use with Access 2010

Thanks, Banana. I have to admit to being a bit overwhelmed with our going through so many changes at once. I think that this week I just reached the point of being functionally brain dead. I'm just having to slow down an think more slowly. You guys just can't imagine how much this forum...

VBA 7 Reference for use with Access 2010

Bob, I thought I had taken care of the trust settings, but after reading your message yesteday I went back and took a second look. This time a got a slightly different screen which let me set the specific folder containing the database as a trusted site. Before I had only seen a little check...
