Re: Access Training Database

Yes, but I personally wouldn't recommend doing this.

You can have a query return all classes. This query would be joined to your "Version" table (child table) to return the latest version date...

Re: change date month to current month

2nd to Mick's response.

Normally you have a process or query that adds a new record that has the "recharge" date. This record normally also holds when it is paid, amount owed, amount paid, and any...

Re: Access Training Database

For myself, in the child "Version" table you can have an "As of" date that defaults to Date(). This means you can find the latest version by simply looking for the newest "Version" record for a given...

Re: Normalizing (and fixing) a large, messy DB

From your layout, it looks like TblGuides is not actually needed.

A person (climber) can be a guide.
The way you can tell they are a guide would be by having there be a link between them an a...

Are you designing this for a specific client (even your own company) that is telling you what it wants or is this more general purpose, such as for resale?

If the former, you can go to them...

When "Widget Waxing" V2 comes out, they need to take the course all over again.

This means that...

To help clarify, Does the training fall into one of the following?

1) A given course is only good for a set duration (normally 1 year or 2 years) and needs to be redone afterward?
2) A given...

Re: Normalizing (and fixing) a large, messy DB

IF a climber can be a guide, and IF they can work for different companies, I'd suggest adding a table that link guides to companies.

GuideForID AutoInc - Primary Key
GuideID Number -...

Re: New to VBA and Access, Need General Help :)

If you can see the FORM, can you bring of the FORM's properties while in design view? If so, you can see, on the "Data" tab, the "Record Source. This should point to either the TABLE or the QUERY.

Re: New to VBA and Access, Need General Help :)

Rhys,

You want to bring up the properties for the TABLE in design view.
The FORM binds a control to the table, so you can think of it as a "Window" to the field in the table. We still need to...

Re: New to VBA and Access, Need General Help :)

When you get a chance, open up your table in DESIGN view. Take a screen shot and post it here. That should give us an idea of what the actual fields are in your table and we can point out if any are...

Re: Using DateDiff on Multiple Records

Where is the first date saved? Is it something you can reference?

If not, you'll need to figure out how you want to hold on to that value, otherwise you have no way to calculate it per entry.
